We are looking for a Trainer & Documentation Specialistto support our team at our location in Columbus, Ohio

SUMMARY:

The Trainer & Documentation Specialist will be responsible for organizing and leading the training program at ADL Technology. This includes planning and scheduling IPC related trainings as well as other general trainings, learning the content and then teaching certain IPC classes, scheduling and overseeing certification and re-certification tests, maintaining employee training records, and more. 

This individual will also be responsible for a variety of other activities including the creation and maintenance of documentation needed throughout the site to support our manufacturing processes, supporting and helping to implement Lean initiatives, and supporting certain activities from our manufacturing engineering department. This role will have the opportunity to expand into other activities across the site as time permits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Train in IPC 610 and IPC 620 and gain CIS certifications in both (unless already certified)Attend CIT training for IPC 610 & IPC 620 – become a certified trainer and maintain CIT certificationsSchedule and teach the IPC 610 & IPC 620 classes as often as neededSchedule and administer all IPC 610 & IPC 620 Certification Tests or Challenge Tests – as often as neededTrack and maintain all site employees’ training certifications and recordsWork with IPC to order exams and training materials Opportunity to expand into teaching other types of training such as soldering, component identification, lean concepts, etc.Assist with creating and updating standard work documentation for manufacturing processesAssist in Labeling Department; creating and maintaining Label Reference SheetsSupport Lean Initiatives and / or Kaizen projectsSupport and help with certain manufacturing engineer activitiesDetail oriented with excellent computer skills (i.e. MS Excel, Word, Adobe and Power Point). Willing to occasionally work a different shift or different hours.Represent LSI Industries in the most positive manner with prospective, current and former employees, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.Interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group of employees and customers.Learn and practice standard operating procedures.Maintain prompt and regular attendance based on the work hours established by management.Handle confidential information with tact and discretion.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; or 2 - 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience as a trainer/teacher 2+ yearsSome experience or background in electronics, electronics manufacturing, soldering, IPC 610 or 620 etc. would be preferable.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Not required, but nice to have: IPC-610 CIS certification, IPC-620 CIS certification, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. Have some experience and the ability to teach a group of individuals, keep them engaged, and help them understand new content. Capable of working independently, with minimum supervision.
