General Summary:

The Cardiac Device Technologist will be able to participate in the care of patients with pacemakers and defibrillators in the MRI environment. The individual in this role will be expected to perform device interrogation, program cardiac devices, monitor patient vital signs, and report on cardiac device performance. Must be able to perform adjustments to programming as per protocol or specific order, and able to troubleshoot basic, intermediate and advanced device issues. The Cardiac Device Technologist will receive supervision from the MRI Lead Technologist and IR Nurse Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Work requires completion of an accredited program in CIED, Certified Cardiac Device Specialist, or Radiologic Technology or equivalent. A minimum of one year experience in Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) procedures and care, which must include experience with pacemakers, defibrillators or implantable loop monitors; implanted cardiac pacemaker and ICD devices. Current CPR and ACLS certification required.
