Job Summary:

As a Machine Vision Engineer, you will assist and execute the design, development, and deployment of custom machine vision systems within industrial automation projects. You will be responsible for supporting and delivering these systems such that they successfully meet all technical specifications, adhere to industry standards, and satisfy customer requirements. This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams and vendors to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions.

 
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Execute the design and development of automation solutions adhering to industry standards.
  • Develop custom Machine Vision applications and GUIs utilizing various Object-oriented programming languages.
  • Work with Machine Vision Systems and Bar Code Reading systems in industrial automation or logistics environments.
  • Support existing vision systems deployed at client sites.
  • Contribute to the development of functional and detailed design documents.
  • Develop and maintain project files, including but not limited to Bill of Materials (BOM), design specifications, engineering drawings.
  • Create and interpret engineering drawings and specifications in order to build or program systems in accordance to provided system's requirements.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently complete technical tasks once trained.
  • Work in a GMP environment where detailed documentation of  processes, configurations, and system changes may be required.

 



RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution (vision component preferred).
  • AIA CVP-Basic Certification preferred but not required.
  • Availability to work evening and weekend hours or varying work patterns depending on project needs.
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license that is in good standing.

 

Required Skills:
  • Experience with existing Machine Vision Platforms such as Cognex, Keyence, Halcon or OpenCV (Cognex platform preferred)
  • Experience implementing projects in a regulated/validated environment is desired (GAMP5 approach experience is preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming languages and machine vision technologies (C#, C++ or Python preferred)
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of computer vision solutions and principles including image acquisition, optics, lighting, algorithm development, object detection, segmentation, and recognition, AI neural networks, 3D imaging, and metrology inspections
  • Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a team.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure situations demonstrating a flexible work style.
