CARFAX seeks a Head of Talent to lead talent strategy, including, recruitment, growing and developing talent, and maximizing team performance. We are looking for an accomplished HR leader with experience developing and building high-performing, high-impact teams, developing talent strategy, and creating HR systems and programs that support workforce development and a learning culture.At CARFAX, we believe in the power of teamwork and value in-person interactions so that we can collaborate and thrive together. This position will require 4 days in office subject to change with future business needs.  What you’ll be doing:  

• Lead talent strategy

Work with senior leadership to define talent strategy and priorities, create workforce development plans, and implement concrete tactics to achieve them. Develop competencies, learning paths, and promotion criteria to create a clear and structured career progression roadmap that helps team members align their skills, aspirations, and strengths, maximize contributions and grow.

• Manage recruitment, hiring, and onboarding 

Actively promote CARFAX as a great place to work, building our “employer brand” and attracting the best and brightest talent. Hire great people: implement a talent management plan to optimize strategic growth, create a diverse pool of top talent; develop systems to predict future success; and develop orientation and onboarding practices to increase the success rate of new hires.

• Create high performing teams and effective performance management systems 

Build a best-in-class performance management system: leverage technology and tools to enable high performance, improve manager effectiveness, and create a culture of learning, innovation, and productivity. Ensure feedback is embedded in the way we work, reviews are conducted on-time, and promotions and management decisions are effectively communicated. Ensure development plans are in place and implemented for all team members, focusing on both immediate and long-term needs (closing skill gaps, developing new competencies, and providing stretch assignments for growth).

• Develop talent

Develop and implement training and development programs that help people learn and grow new skills, develop capabilities, and maximize productivity. Create leadership and management training programs to support leaders achieve great results and become “talent champions”. Implement talent management systems and processes to identify potential and develop plans that support development and growth. Focus engagement and retention efforts on high-performing, high-potential team members. What we’re looking for:   Must have 10 years of progressive HR experience with 3+ years of experience with industrial or organizational psychology, strategic human capital, workforce planning or adult learning. Master’s degree in human resources, business, or organizational design preferred.  Demonstrated success establishing strong partnerships with leaders to build systems and processes that create extraordinary teams; ability to develop and communicate a vision for growing and developing talent, establishing pragmatic processes and organizational systems required. Experience leading a variety of talent-related projects and collaborating with others to develop effective, equitable, talent management systems, including promotion guidelines, recruitment plans, performance evaluations, retention plans, career paths, etc. Strong subject matter expertise with strong business acumen, experience building strong partnerships, and leading through change. Must have exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think conceptually and identify innovative solutions and communicate complex information in a clear and simple way.
