Job Summary:

The Office of Colorado Mental Health Access Programs (CO-MHAP) and the Women’s Behavioral Health and Wellness (within the Department of Psychiatry (DOP)) has an opening for a full-time staff member (Healthcare Senior Professional / Resource and Referral Specialist) to support the development of a state-wide perinatal psychiatry consultation and access program. PROSPER (Perinatal Resource to Support Obstetric Screening, Psychiatric Education, Equity and Referral) will expand the capacity of front-line healthcare providers to implement universal screening, assessment and treatment of perinatal mental health and substance use conditions within routine obstetric care.

The Resource and Referral specialist will be the first point of contact for health care providers calling the consultation line. They will provide a brief assessment and, based on need, provide linkage to a consultation with a WBHW psychiatric provider and/or community-based treatment and recovery support services. Additional duties include development and maintenance of a state-wide referral database, providing follow up with providers and patients after initial consultation, recruitment and enrollment of healthcare practices providing obstetric care across Colorado, and clinical data collection and coordination for the project.

This position will sit within the Office of Colorado Mental Health Access Programs and will be learning from Women’s Behavioral Health Care Coordinators and Resource Coordinators from the CoPPCAP team (). With the growth of the new Office of Colorado Mental Health Access Programs, this position will likely oversee other resource and referral staff across all access and consultation programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides initial assessment of needs to providers of perinatal people. Provides resources and referrals to providers. Documents consultation encounters in a timely manner and in compliance with project requirements. Maintains care coordination data to support program operations and reporting. Maintains a good working relationship and ongoing communication with referral sources. Oversee other resource and referral specialists for mental health access programs. Manage the PROSPER website. Promotes a positive working environment and customer relations. Coordinates enrollment meetings with healthcare practice. Promotes educational events to healthcare practices and providers.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.
