Position Details

POSITION: Teacher – Early Childhood Special Education – Foundational Fives Program (M-F 7.0

Hrs/day)

SUMMARY: Responsible for planning instruction and/or adaptation of the program to enable students to benefit from their educational experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education;

Valid Teaching Certificate with ZS or ZA endorsement.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide a basic core program for assigned Compile and maintain attendance, behavior, achievement, and health records consistent with current established policy. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of special education rules and Prepare written reports and recommendations for IFSP/IEP Work cooperatively with staff to coordinate goals and Schedule and attend meetings with students, parents, and staff as Individualize instruction to meet the varying needs of students and Plan and deliver instruction consistent with the local, state, and federal established Maintain and apply knowledge of current research regarding student development, behavior management, and learning Evaluate and monitor student progress through subjective and objective means including written work, test performance, and personal observation. Provide parents and students with clear and consistent feedback regarding student Maintain and encourage open lines of communication with Establish and maintain a physical and social classroom conducive to Assist students and parents in establishing educational goals consistent with student aptitudes, abilities, and Prepare reports, records, observation records, and other miscellaneous Adapt teaching methods to keep pace with current best Maintain appropriate Actively participates in all team meetings to build personal capacity and ensure all families benefit from the team Directs instruction to parents by providing meaningful coaching to facilitate the skills necessary to support their child’s Participates in co-visits with other staff to learn from and/or support staff and family Is flexible with respect to work schedule including days, hours, and dosage in order to meet the federal timelines and support family’s needs when learning a new Participation in professional learning community as a means to increase knowledge and skills. ECSE management in regard to timelines for progress reports, IEP, planning, and reeducation Supervise, train, and coach professional staff

Demonstrates a strong foundation and understanding of early childhood development across Is an asset to the team, bringing knowledge and experience and sharing expertise. Pursues appropriate professional development for his/her discipline as well as best practices in early childhood and demonstrates ability to share that knowledge with the Organized and able to work Organize and lead regularly scheduled collaborative team meetings with a focus on problem solving impaired student outcomes and action plans.
