Job Description

Summary: Operate the FLETC Post Office and courier schedule under the agreement of the Post Master, North Charleston. All articles of mail (parcel, package, letter or checks to the USPS) must be safeguarded at all times to ensure prompt delivery to the attended recipient.

Essential Job Functions:

Transport mail from building 650 Shipping/Receiving for distribution around FLETC site Operate FLETC Post Office counter providing mail services Weigh, meter and mail all Government and personal envelopes/packages and account for all monies All mail items not distributed shall be held in the Post Office(building 46) or locked in the mail van and controlled in a secure environment at all times Sort and place mail in staff and student mail pick up boxes Dispense stamps and packaging materials and account for all monies Once daily (approximately 1400) - gather all outgoing mail and packages and proceed to the USPS post office for drop off Carry company provided cell phone at all times and answer all calls unless with a customer during open post office hours or on lunch break Request assistance from the Lead Supply Tech any time help is required due to heavy work load Check with warehouse specialists at building 650 twice during the morning and twice during the afternoon (phone call or stop in) for delivered mail items that need distributing Turn in a weekly report of all mail transactions to the Lead Supply Tech every Monday no later than 1400 for all of the previous week's post office transactions. This info will be used to generate the monthly mail report provided to FLETC

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday: 9:00am-6:00pm FLETC Post Office will Operate Monday-Friday 11:30am-1:00pm and 4:15pm-6:00pm

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must have a valid SC Driver's License. Must be able to push, pull and or lift 70 lbs. repeatedly while mounting/dismounting truck Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to pass a background investigation and pass a drug and physical exam.
