The Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics (HOBI) at the University of Florida is seeking motivated candidates to apply for the position of Data Management Analyst II. The Data Management Analyst will participate in data-driven research activities in the UF Health Cancer Center Cancer Informatics Shared Resource. This position is part of a data management team responsible for data warehousing, management, and analysis. Responsibilities include: 1) Designing and managing data file systems from multiple research projects, including multiple data sets and/or data platforms. 2) Participation in the design and implementation of research and evaluation studies. 3) Conduct statistical data analyses and participate in the interpretation of results. 4) Assisting with data collection, reporting, and contributing to scientific reports, conference papers, and journal articles.

Duties Include:

This position will be responsible for providing data analysis services for real-world clinical research by selecting and applying appropriate analytical methods to answer questions and test hypotheses as specified by clinical researchers, administrators, and clinicians. This position requires expertise in database study design, statistical methods, algorithms, and result interpretation. Expected projects will include the design of research and operational databases, statistical analyses, and the development of reporting infrastructures. The role involves providing services to domain experts on issues related to analytical methods, and prioritizing and coordinating multiple tasks to achieve tight deadlines determined by commitments to funding agencies, while complying in a timely manner with administrative requests and requirements. This position will interact with a range of experts in database modeling, advanced analytic processes, as well as clinical and domain experts.

This position will be responsible for fulfilling any research project request, focusing on database analysis using SEER-Medicare data. Expertise and responsibilities are similar to those listed in biostatistical consultant data analysis services. Project management and multidisciplinary interaction are expected in this position.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Diverse skills in data management, programming, and statistical methods; ability and experience working with a number of software packages (e.g., SAS, R, Python, Stata, and Excel).

Ability to work independently, with initiative, manage time and work with minimal supervision to analyze problems and take appropriate action to complete projects.
