The Progenitor Cell Technician performs all tasks and duties associated with the processing and cryopreservations of peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) and bone marrow (BM) used to provide hematopoietic support to patient undergoing high dose chemotherapy. This role performs all duties in compliance with Stem Cell Processing Laboratory (SCPL) policies and procedures. This position manages daily operations of the laboratory. Coordinates personnel and patient schedules, addresses quality control deviations and ensures maintenance of procedure manuals and annual documentation of competence. This job implements and maintains quality control and quality assurance procedures as part of the continuous Quality Improvement Plan. This job also ensures compliance with FAHCT accreditation requirements.

Performs all tasks and duties associated with the processing and cryopreservation of peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) and bone marrow (BM) used to provide hematopoietic support to patients undergoing high dose chemotherapy. Performs all tasks and duties associated with thawing cryopreserved cellular therapy products at the patient bedside (inpatient) and/or chairside (outpatient) for scheduled infusions. Performs all tasks and duties associated with receipt, storage, packaging, transport and preparation of investigational products (IP) for research and clinical trials.
