Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Maintains Triumph Actuation Systems - Clemmons Paint Shop by being responsible for the masking,
surface preparation, and priming/painting process in accordance with work specifications as
per regulatory, company, customer, and manufacturer guidelines. Employees utilize pneumatic tools and equipment in the performance of aerospace component and assembly painting.
Major Accountabilities:
1. Maintains information base by keeping Paint Shop job and safety records and filing systems current.
2. Meets production deadlines by determining production priorities, organizing work schedule, and accomplishing job results in a timely manner.
3. Coordinates Paint Shop inventory needs by ordering supplies, maintaining all Paint Shop equipment.
4. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by cleaning paint booth area, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
5. Provide the necessary paint and processing skills to accomplish the manufacture of a quality product, on schedule within designated customer and company specifications and cost constraints.
6. Processes and primes/paints product.
7. Clean and mask components per internal and customer process specifications along with verbal instructions.
8. Apply prep and paint skills that lead to a high-quality finished product.
9. Selects and mixes coating material along with the basic understanding of various types of paints, primers, thinners, and other chemicals associated with aerospace coatings.
10. Ability to utilize measuring tools associated with paint shop to assure product compliance.
11. Understanding of industry and quality requirements related to product coatings along with understanding of Customer and military specifications, engineering drawings, and paperwork completion.
12. Uses HVLP Paint Gun systems to apply coatings to product.
13. Understands coating and cure times and schedules work to meet production requirements.
14. Represents Paint department and Responsible for Nadcap, Customer and internal audits.
15. Capable of reading, interpreting, and writing procedures, work instructions, and work-related forms.
16. Maintains, Trains, and assures proper PPE usage and safety within the Paint department.
17. Willingness to embrace and apply Lean initiatives and SPC in work area and supports Continuous Improvement activities.
18. Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.
19. Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
20. Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.
21. Ability to work in front of customer & auditors with high level of integrity and understanding of painting process.
Qualifications
Physical Limitations: Work may require bending, carrying, climbing stairs, lifting to sixty (60) pounds, pulling, pushing, reaching, continuous and/or long periods of time hand & arm movements sitting, and standing.
Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma
Minimum Years of Experience Required: Some aerospace coatings painting experience preferred.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• Must be able to pass a respirator physical.
• Be willing to work overtime, including weekends.
• Two years' experience in aerospace environment preferred.
• Strong painting aptitude
• Flexible to changing tasks and workload.
• Willing to work overtime and/or split shifts.
• Self-motivated, creative, team oriented, resourceful, adaptable, results oriented, willingness to learn.
• Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, military, and customer specifications
• Capable of using HVLP spray equipment
• Proficiency in MS Office: Word & Excel
• Familiar with AS9100 & NADCAP processes and procedures a plus
Responsibilities:
• Works from blueprints, manufacturing specifications and procedures, work orders, sketches and oral instructions.
• Perform a wide variety of painting efforts requiring special techniques and finishes.
• Prepares parts for paint performing various operations such as cleaning and masking to assure proper adherence and application of primers, anti-corrosives and similar protection coatings as required.
• Adheres to all applicable safety and operations procedures and directives.
• Sign off all associated paperwork and submit work to inspection.
• Performs good housekeeping chores in area.
• Brings to the attention of the supervisor all malfunctions, defects, and damages of equipment, material and product.
• Performs Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for which the individual has been delegated production accountability.
• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
