JOB SUMMARY

The Color Mix Operator under the supervision of the Production Supervisors creates the colors used for color and paint application for the molds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Follows safety procedures at all times. Controls pigments storage in the Color Department. Creates the color as indicated on the schedule by mixing the badges of dry pigments and liquid color according to the formula cards and following mixing times. Tests the product after each batch has been prepared to assure it fulfills the requirements of moisture balance and color. Transports the finished color towards the line or the mixer to be used if necessary or to the storage area until is needed. Ensures that chemicals are stored properly to prevent any possible accidents. Cleans slurry mixing equipment and the mixing areas after each batch and check for mechanical defects on the daily. Notify supervisor or Lead person of any problems are identified. Maintains 5S in the area. Maintain equipment clean and in working order. Has knowledge about color application and QC criteria. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Basic mathematical skills (i.e. ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Able to read, comprehend and follow simple instructions, required. 6 months to 1 year of color or stone manufacturing experience required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

Complete repetitive movements such as typing Complete repetitive movements Must be able to work independently Work in a fast-paced environment Ability to efficiently multi task Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
