Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for all work relating to all types of trades, such as maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, welding, preventive maintenance and equipment repair.Performs skilled and unskilled work in several crafts.Performs duties and responsibilities at locations separated from RRMC as necessary and all other duties as required.

Essential Functions:

Maintains and repairs various appliances and equipment throughout the hospital. Performs semi-skilled work in the installation and repair of steam traps, valves and water pumps and repair and adjustments of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. Repairs doors, door closures, locks, tables, chairs and other furniture or equipment. Repairs plumbing fixtures, including unstopping commodes, drains, steam traps and sewer lines, cleaning of grease traps and repairing leaking faucets. Performs preventive maintenance on various types of hospital equipment. Replaces light bulbs, ballasts, switches, cords and fuses. Greases and oils machinery. Maintains Joint Commission paperwork for all outside hospital clinics. Responsible for the purchases made with corporate credit card, including maintaining receipts and justifications of purchases. Work with outside contractors to complete necessary work needed at the hospital clinics. Maintain the rounds van with proper inventory of necessary equipment and tools. Performs other duties as assigned. Assists and supports other departments when needed. Is knowledgeable of areas of high regulatory risk that impact job duties.
