The Streicher Lab at the University of Arizona College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to advance a project evaluating the mechanistic underpinnings of terpene pain relief. Ideal candidates will have a background in pain and reward/addiction behavioral pharmacology as well as gene editing approaches (, CRISPR). The successful candidate will be a well-rounded, enthusiastic individual with training in the area of neuroscience, blood-brain barrier, and/or pharmacology. The candidate should have experience performing research in a laboratory setting designing, organizing, managing, and carrying out research. This individual should be detailed oriented, conscientious, able to follow instructions and have the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.

Duties & Responsibilities Develop, plan, design, and conduct research. Review progress and evaluates results. Coordinate laboratory work including lab equipment management. Formulate research methods. Develop or collaborate in the development of new techniques, methods, and equipment. Contribute to ensuring regulatory compliance of the research program by coordinating with granting agencies and regulators as required by research program.  Design and perform experiments, interpret data, and analyze results. Present findings and prepare and submit manuscripts and research grants. Present talks, posters and research findings at national and international conferences. Attend regular group meetings; manage, maintain, and order laboratory equipment and supplies; and respond to administrative request and procedures. Generate new ideas and projects for development. Minimum Qualifications The applicant must have a PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or related field of study and zero to four years of postdoctoral experience. Preferred Qualifications Strong background in neuroscience and demonstrated productivity. Imaging technique experience. Adept at computer software (Word, Excel, Power Point) and familiarity statistical and graphing programs.
