Position: Janitor
Location: [Earth City]Job Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of the facility. This position ensures a clean and safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors by performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and Sanitize: Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other common areas.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain all floor surfaces regularly. Strip, wax, and buff floors as needed.
  • Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials from all areas of the facility.
  • Surface Cleaning: Dust and clean desks, countertops, windowsills, and other surfaces.
  • Restock Supplies: Refill and restock paper products, soap dispensers, and other supplies in restrooms and common areas.
  • Window and Glass Cleaning: Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to ensure a streak-free shine.
  • Minor Maintenance: Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging toilets, and replacing batteries in various equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing duties.
  • Reporting: Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or necessary repairs to the maintenance supervisor or facility manager.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
  • Event Setup: Assist with setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and other equipment for meetings or events as needed.
  • Outdoor Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas, including parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances by sweeping and removing debris.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
    • Good time management skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
    • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Safety: Understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Work Environment:
  • Indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Use of various cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous conditions.
Pay Rate: $18.50/ Hr
