New York, United States Columbia University Full time

The Department of Radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a full-time nuclear medicine radiologist to join our growing Division of Nuclear Medicine. This is a great opportunity for a clinician-scientist with ambition to grow a career in research and administration.

Compensation and academic rank will vary based on credentials, expertise, and experience. Salary range starts at $400,000 (for a faculty member in the first year out of fellowship). Columbia University offers a generous benefits package.

This position has been created to accelerate the clinical, academic, and research program in Molecular Imaging and Therapy at Columbia. Physicians with a track record or demonstrable strong interest in translational molecular imaging will be preferred. The successful candidate will independently cover a busy service when on clinical rotation and actively lead a research program after a startup period, where dedicated research time and resources will be made available. Other responsibilities include participation in resident and fellowship education, participation in interdisciplinary conferences, and collaboration with clinical colleagues.

The PET Center imaging resources include 3 state-of-the-art PET/CT scanners, available for clinical and research use. Dedicated research facilities include a Molecular Imaging Center that houses 2 cyclotrons, 3 PET/CT cameras, and a cGMP facility capable of production of radiopharmaceuticals for research/clinical use, along with a dedicated regulatory office to expedite FDA approval. Modifications to the facility to enable cGMP production of compounds suitable for MR imaging/spectroscopy are feasible.

The Division faculty interpret over 3,000 PET/CT scans and perform almost 500 research imaging cases annually. We work in partnership with colleagues in the medical center's many highly regarded departments and centers, including the renowned Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center for the investigation of diseases of the central nervous system, the Taub Institute for research on Alzheimer's disease and the aging brain, the Department of Neurology, the Cerebrovascular Center of the Neurological Institute, the Department of Neurological Surgery, the NCI-designated Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Department of Radiation Oncology, the Department of Psychiatry, the New York State Psychiatric Institute, and the Department for Biomedical Engineering.
