Summary/Objective

Penmarc Inspired Spaces, LLC is currently seeking Independent Contractors (1099) Trim Carpenters to install/assemble various millwork, cabinets, and wire systems for residential and commercial clients.

Penmarc is a premier service provider for providing installation services of custom-designed spaces that inspire playful and organized lifestyles. Working with products chosen by the client and customer, our team of professional installers brings the project to life by installing spaces such as closets, offices, garages, etc…that will leave clients refreshed, excited, and ready to organize.

What you will be doing?

As an Independent Trim Carpenter, you will provide Penmarc Inspired Spaces with your availability and be assigned installation work during these hours.

Jobs consist of installing various prefabricated custom closet systems and will also include: production measures of spaces, indoor demolition of current closet systems, sheetrock repair, painting, and trash removal. Installers can have one or multiple jobs a day and commute to jobs using their vehicles. Job locations will vary but tend to be within 25 miles of our client’s retail store locations.

You are responsible for on-site client satisfaction through project completion.

You bring the highest level of professionalism and quality of work to every installation you undertake. Responsible for alerting the Penmarc Management, the client, and/or scheduling teams to issues in the field and strategizing to eliminate these issues on future jobs. Track your progress and maintain excellence in your workmanship and customer service. Be a team player to get the job done right

Essential Functions

Must be able to lift 50 Lbs. Must have reliable transportation. Must have a cell phone or tablet with data service. Must own and use your own tools. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in all interactions with clientele and maintain excellent service through completion. Continuously monitor your progress to optimize the efficiency of your day and installations. Be able to problem-solve issues arising in the field to help complete your task promptly. Interact positively and immediately with scheduling to keep abreast of progress. Maintain your tools and work environment safely and cleanly, minimizing disturbance to other areas. Respect the environments you will be working in as they are your own.

Required Education and Experience

2 years of Trim Carpentry experience - cabinetry, millwork, interior trim, remodels, renovations, shelving or closet organizers is required. Construction experience preferred. Ability to obtain the RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Paint) Lead Renovator Certification within one month of hire. Knowledge of General Safety Practices or OSHA training preferred. Ability to use hand tools, reciprocating and miter saws, and power tools correctly and safely. Knowledge of general construction practices and details. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively with a keen sense to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment to make decisions and solve problems. Ability to handle multiple installations in a day. Ability to use applications on a cell phone. Ability to read layouts from custom designs or blueprints. Knowledge of basic mathematics

Preferred Education and Experience

Construction: 2 years Carpentry: 1 year

Competencies

Supervisory Responsibility

Manage no additional employees.

Work Environment

This job will be located in a specific service territory which may include a wider metro area. General hours are 8am – 6pm Monday through Saturday.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Contract position with variable hours based on client volume and installer availability.

Travel

Daily travel to residential worksites. Overnight travel generally under 10%, and agreed upon with installer prior to establishing travel.
