Job Summary The Office of Residence Life at the University fosters theholistic development of on-campus students and provides asafe and secure environment. Driven by the University’sacademic mission, the Office of Residence Life collaborateswith numerous campus partners, academic administrators, andfaculty to aid student retention and promote student learningand success. The Office of Residence Life is home to 7,400residential students, 48 full-time professionals, and over 260student staff members.Under the supervision of the Director of Residence Life, TheAssociate Director of Academic and Retention Initiatives willbe responsible for furthering the department’s mission indevising and overseeing strategies that promote students’academic success and the retention of students to the universityand undergraduate housing. To aid in all efforts to facilitate anacademically supportive environment, the Associate Directorwill have direct supervision of Assistant Directors and co-supervision of Residence Hall Staff for an area of campuscomprised of nearly 2,500 students. Additional oversight forthe Associate Director of Academic and Retention Initiativesincludes strategic planning and assessment/analytics for theirarea and devising strategies to help support under-servedstudents in our residence halls. Furthermore, the AssociateDirector position will also serve in an on-call capacity, is partof the departmental leadership team, and is vital in establishinga connection between the Office of Residence Life and thecampus community.The University of Kentucky Office for Student Successoperates from a student-centered foundation.
