Job Duty/Resp. 1:

Assists with supervision of staff, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and terminating or recommending termination.Implements policies approved by the Board of Education; enforces policies and procedures for student discipline, and protects students’ rights

Job Duty/Resp. 2:

Supports the visions and goals of the Athletic Director as well as organizes, plans and controls special projects as directed by the Athletic Director. Also maintains continuity in the Athletic department in the absence of the Athletic Director. Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director in a willing, cooperative, courteous and professional manner.

Job Duty/Resp. 3:

Promotes good school and community relationships and also develops partnerships with the athletic departments of local colleges/universities to promote growth within Metro Schools

Job Duty/Resp. 4:

Works with the Athletic Director to keep an accurate budget as well as assists in the development of athletic booster clubs, club by laws, and membership

Job Duty/Resp. 5:

Works with the Athletic Director and coaches to organize routine information and stories of interest on various programs for public recognition of athletic achievements.

Job Duty/Resp. 6:

Attends sporting events at middle and high schools on a regular basis and also organizes middle and high school professional development opportunities for all sports.

Job Duty/Resp. 7:

Maintains records of team and individual athletic accomplishments for historical purposes.

Job Duty/Resp. 8:

Works with middle school lead coaches in coordinating sports schedules and tournaments

Responsibilities of Coaches: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Academics Prepares, implements and monitors specific plans for the improvement of academic performance of athletes Administration Care of equipment and recommend equipment to be purchasedPlans and executes an effective budgetOrganization of staffOrganization and schedule of practiceSchedule games and contestsSchedule, conduct and supervise daily practice during the assigned season; this should include teaching fundamental skills, team play, team strategy, and rules and regulations of the gameSelect squad members, maintain team discipline and morale, and give necessary supervision and direction during contestsCommunication with coachesAdherence to Board of Education, TSSAA, and school philosophy and policiesPublic relationsProvides for the proper supervision of students before, during and after practice/games/contestsSubmits participation list on time and collects required forms (physical, insurance, and permission)Promote the sport in the school and communityPrepare/Inspect playing area for safety and playability Skills and Knowledge Demonstrates and applies current knowledge related to assignment in both games and practices.Presentation of the fundamentalsPresentation of the fundamentalsConditioningGame preparationUtilizes proper first aid techniquesDemonstrates continuous professional growth Relationships Effectiveness in working with students in working with staffin working with parents Discipline firm but fairconsistent Communication with players Individualas a team Conduct conduct of teamSet an example of self-control and good sportsmanship for players, parents, and spectators
