Summary

Regis College is actively seeking a Clinical Placement Coordinator for Graduate Counseling Programs. The Master of Arts in Counseling is a strong and growing program offered in the School of Health Sciences on the Weston, MA campus. A full-time position: qualified applicants will have an earned doctorate in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or Clinical Psychology from a regionally-accredited program and three years of college or university experience teaching.

Successful candidates will share a commitment and passion for working with diverse and marginalized populations. As a generalist program, areas of specialty remain open, but candidates with experience in antiracism, intersectional feminism, assessment, and therapeutic considerations, as well as community mental health care are encouraged to apply. A passion for excellence with gentleness, a commitment to diversity, collaboration and innovation, and positive energy are fundamental to this position. The Clinical Placement Coordinator is a faculty position that also provides leadership and oversight for the placement and support of Graduate Counseling Programs students. Rank commensurate with previous teaching experience, past scholarly achievement, and service.

Essential Functions:

Teach graduate level courses in the area of counseling. Provide oversight and leadership of the clinical placement component of the Graduate Counseling Programs. Collaborate with Graduate Counseling Programs Director. Oversee the implementation of a student assessment plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Serve as clinical placement liaison and mentor to students. Ensure sufficient number of placement sites and develop clinical placement site partnerships. Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline such as publishing, presenting at national, regional, and local conferences, conducting research and/or grant writing and related activities.  Represent program in partnership meetings with referring institutions and agency sites.  All roles and responsibilities associated with a full-time faculty appointment, including teaching, scholarship and service to the program, department, school, and institution.  Demonstrated evidence of the use of instructional technology.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Student advising as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

PhD or PsyD in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or Clinical Psychology. Current professional license to independently practice in the State of Massachusetts as a licensed mental health counselor. Minimum three years of full-time or the equivalent part-time post-licensure clinical mental health experience as a licensed mental health counselor. Experience teaching at the graduate level. Experience in program design, accreditation, assessment of academic programs, and hiring and management of faculty preferred. Ability to uphold the university’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community. Ability to uphold the mission of Graduate Counseling Programs.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc. May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
