What we need:

The Vice President - Controller for the Flooring North America segment at Mohawk Industries will play a critical role in overseeing all accounting operations for the ~$4B segment, ensuring accurate financials, compliance with SOX controls, and building a world-class finance/accounting team. Reporting directly to the CFO, Flooring North America, the VP - Controller will lead a team of finance/accounting professionals and collaborate with business teams to continuously improve quality of accounting processes to ensure accurate financial statements​.

What you’ll do:

Create a culture of end-to-end process thinking, partnering across businesses and functions to facilitate process excellence. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. Support the preparation of financial statements, SEC filings, and other financial disclosures. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Drive systematic process improvement and automation across the accounting function to improve reliability and accuracy of financial reporting. Build and develop a high-performing finance team capable of supporting the needs of the Flooring North America segment. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain, to align financial objectives with business strategies. Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making processes. Assess financial risks and opportunities, including business model changes, market trends, and regulatory changes. Develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the financial interests of the company and ensure long-term sustainability. Drive initiatives to leverage technology and data analytics to optimize performance and drive informed decision-making. Performs other duties as required in support of the company / division goals and objectives.

What you have:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements. Experience in manufacturing, multi-business unit environment is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data to inform business decisions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives. Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management with all levels within an organization of comparable size and structure. Demonstrated experience leading multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups and managing resources to meet organizational goals across multiple projects.

Ability and willingness to accept responsibility, willingness to challenge established practices and draw relevant conclusions, including the persistence and willingness to take calculated risk, to stimulate, market and sell new ideas within the organizations. Excellent human resource management skills to effectively lead and direct a diverse work group; ability to motivate, persuade and direct the activities of others, to achieve results through team efforts capitalizing on the teams’ diversity. Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment and/or crisis and render good decisions to resolve the problems, maintain safety and ensure adherence to Corporate Code of Conduct.
