Description
Under the immediate supervision of the Medical Imaging Manager, is responsible for conducting routine Echo exams and ensuring all physician and patient needs are met through clinical and administrative tasks per established departmental policies and procedures and all applicable laws.
Responsibilities
PACS
1 Ensures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synapse
2 Scan Documents in a timely manner
3 Trouble shoot as needed
4 Push images to other Hospitals
5 Burn Cd's/and enter Tech notes into each exam completed
HIS/RIS
1 Ensures timely reporting of exams
2 Charges exams correctly
3 Prints Schedules and checks Patient orders
4 Confirms patient identity with two identifiers
Performs Echo Exams
1 Obtain quality Transthoracic Echocardiogram images consistent with department protocol and in compliance with standards set by the ARDMS
2 Manage all Ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information
3 Performs Echocardiogram, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echocardiograms
4 Completes preliminary report of findings that include necessary measurements and calculations using a digital review station
5 Performs IV access if necessary
Other
1 Recognizes emergency situations and provides assistance to the patient or health care team
2 Ensures safety measures implemented as necessary for age specific patient population
Qualifications
Qualifications
1: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
2: Registered in Adult Cardiac Sonography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
3: Must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
