We are seeking a Transportation Planner  to join our Duluth, GA team Come join us 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide transportation and traffic planning support for a diverse range of projects, including comprehensive transportation plans, safety action plans, corridor studies, interchange feasibility studies, transit studies, transportation improvement plans, multi-modal system analysis, big data analysis, community and urban planning, and economic and financial budgeting. The ideal candidate will possess strong collaboration skills, technical expertise in GIS, demographic analysis, financial analysis, safety analysis, railroad planning, infrastructure planning, and technical writing.

This position has the potential to evolve into a project management role, encompassing responsibilities for budgets, schedules, and the delivery of stand-alone planning documents and planning study deliverables.

Act as a key team resource by leading data collection and analysis, offering technical transportation planning guidance, and assisting in the review of design solutions.

Contribute to the development of planning reports, deliverables, and other project documents that meet Atlas standards and client requirements.

Collaborate regularly with Project Managers and staff from other design disciplines within Atlas and partner firms to ensure successful project delivery.

Support Project Managers with management tasks, including coordinating meetings, organizing document repositories, and ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables.

Engage in client, stakeholder, and public meetings and events as required.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering, planning or related field 5-10 years of demonstrated experience with transportation and/or urban planning for multi-disciplinary projects post-graduation

Technical Requirements: 

Proficiency in, ArcGIS, GIS Online Applications, QGIS, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Crash Analysis Tools Knowledge of planning level financial aspects including planning level cost estimation, potential funding sources for transportation/infrastructure projects (Federal, State, and Local), the ability to understand jurisdictional budgets and Capitol Improvement Programs. Willingness to actively engage in stakeholder and public involvement for a given planning project. Ability to serve as a representative of Atlas at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects
