Overnight Lead Pharmacist

For ALL Pharmacists: Provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care primarily through providing service excellence, clinical services, distributive functions, education, and a commitment to the department’s mission. He/she shall possess characteristics to successfully fulfill their responsibilities, including effective communication, flexibility, attention to detail, initiative, cooperation, and a high level of knowledge and skills applicable to their area of practice. He/she will regularly profile orders for medications, monitor patient’s drug therapies, provide drug information, and initiate/modify drug therapy based on medical staff approved policies and protocols.
A Lead Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing of medications, maintaining standards set by the department, translating policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy, and acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information. A Lead pharmacist is responsible for the coordination of activities and assignments of the pharmacist and support staff, is accountable for the quality and volume of work and is responsible for meeting all shift deadlines both scheduled and unscheduled.

QualificationsDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution or bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) from an accredited institution PGY1 Residency/fellowship or Three (3) years of relevant acute care experienceCurrent Pharmacist License in the State of Florida
Knowledge of hospital based information system, reporting features, and Microsoft OfficeBoard Certification (BPS) active or certification that meets ASHP preceptor qualifications relevant to intended area of focus.
Preferred: 3 + years’ experience, PGY1 residency in Acute Care Setting, BPS certification. Strong proficiency in computer literacy including but not limited to MS Office, Pharmacy clinical systems (Cerner), and Pyxis technologies.
