Job Summary:

As a Senior Full-Stack User Experience (UX) designer for a customer-facing web and mobile application you will use your comprehensive knowledge in observational research, conducting surveys and interviews with users, creating wireframes and prototypes, conducting usability tests, and presenting data in creating a captivating and human-centered design beyond the user interface. While designing visually appealing interfaces is important, your role carries even greater significance in ensuring that the overall user experience is seamless, intuitive, strategic, and meets our customers' expectations. By focusing on user experience over interface design, you will play a vital role in crafting an application that engages our users and fosters long-term adoption. As such, you will be able to articulate the reasoning behind design choices.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Wireframing and Prototyping: As a Senior UI/UX Designer you must be able to work alone and with other junior to senior UX designers to create Low and High Fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and mockups to visualize and communicate design ideas. Iterate on these designs based on feedback and user testing.

UX Design: Design the user experience flow in collaboration with our experienced team. Optimize navigation, information architecture, and interactions to enhance usability and accessibility.

UI Design: Develop visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces that balance the constraints of the Appian low-code environment and user experience. Working solo or with other UX designers, create designs for web and mobile applications on Windows, Android, and Apple iOS, while also considering factors such as layout, typography, color schemes, and visual hierarchy.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including the customer product owner, internal Junior and Senior UI/UX designers, end-user SMEs, business analysts, QA Testers, developers, and other partner stakeholders to understand requirements, align design goals, and ensure the successful implementation of UI/UX solutions as a product ready for production.

Usability Testing: Conduct usability testing sessions along with other team members to gather feedback on the application's usability and identify areas for improvement. Analyzeuser feedback and iterate on designs to enhance the overall user experience.

Design Documentation: Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides, design patterns, and UI specifications, to ensure consistency across different platforms and devices. Must also possess knowledge of current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UI/UX design, specifically related to potential competitors ahead of the product release to the market. Apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improve the application's design and user experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in UI/UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science or a related field is preferred and a minimum of 5 years of experience required. Relevant certifications or equivalent work experience will also be considered.

A strong portfolio showcasing your UI/UX design work, including wireframes, prototypes, and final designs.

Proven experience as a UI/UX designer, preferably with a focus on customer-facing web and mobile applications.

Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.

Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and interaction design.

Possess experience with and the basic editing skills for front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on UI/UX design.

Experience with online collaboration tools, ., FigJam, Google Docs, Mira.

Experience with development tools and services that can streamline project management, version control, and deployment processes ticketing, ., Jira, Confluence, Asana, Azure DevOps.

Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first approaches.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.

Experience with creating graphics and understanding of graphic design principles for use in creating design artifacts like icons, diagrams, etc.

Hands-on, real-world experience in a professional environment preferred.

Federal government experience preferred.

Must be a . Citizen or Green Card holder be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
