Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental factors to determine functional abilities and limitations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and activities to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, endurance, and mobility.
  • Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive technology to facilitate independence and enhance daily living skills.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, home exercise programs, and strategies for maximizing independence.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress, outcomes, and changes in therapy plans, maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and accessibility within healthcare settings, ensuring equitable access to therapy services and resources.
  • Stay informed about advances in occupational therapy research, techniques, and technologies through continuing education and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid state license or certification as an Occupational Therapist (OTR).
  • Previous clinical experience as an OT, preferably in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
