Overview:

We are seeking a Instructional Design/Assessment Program Support Associate who will focus on supporting the Instructional Designers in the development, and implementation of classroom and web-based learning solutions as well as providing support to the Office of Technical Training assessment team. This position resides in the Instructional Design Team in the Office of Technical Training in ESH&Q Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide support for the ID Team in training development related to technical and compliance training

Develops and delivers training materials

Serve as ID Team representative for initial intake of Instruction Design projects

Respond to customer requests for training review material

Work with internal clients and subject matter experts (SMEs) to address and revise minor training issues

Assist in developing and maintaining schedule for training evaluation efforts

Create and maintain evaluation forms, templates, rubrics, and assessment plans

Serve on evaluation team by observing in-field work, classes, and interviewing personnel

Assist in scheduling and conducting training assessments

Perform procedure reviews for training requirements (i.e. ITRM/SBMS requirements)

Basic Qualifications:

A BS degree in a technical field or a related discipline that focuses on learning and development.

A minimum of two years of relevant experience working in a technical field and team environment developing web-based, classroom, and/or blended learning solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

A degree in Instructional Design, Education, or equivalent curriculum is preferred, along with experience with authoring tools for web-based learning in an industrial or government setting (Storyline and Captivate are preferred), and/or working with an LMS is a plus.

Excellent computer skills with demonstrated working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products, as well as Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are required.

Excellent interpersonal, consulting, oral, and written communications skills in a multi-level, scientific environment are keys to success.

The incumbent must possess the ability to coach others on the use of instructional design methods and tools and interface effectively with all management levels within the project team and the organization.

The incumbent must be reliable, self-motivated, willing to develop their professional skillset, and focused on high-quality delivery of work products and possess superb organizational and time management skills.

Special Requirements:

Export control, no clearance: This position requires access to technology that is subject to export control requirements. Successful candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license.
