Thermo King Chesapeake has immediate openings for Transport Refrigeration Techs at our Hagerstown facility. We are looking for experienced and/or entry-level techs to work in our service shop and from our mobile service truck. Strong technical/mechanical background is a must.  Experience with diesel engines and HVAC is a plus. We'll train the right individuals Factory training is company-sponsored and provided by the company after the required probationary period has been completed. We are looking for techs that are enthusiastic about learning and excelling in their field.

All positions are full-time and consist of 40-hour weeks; Monday thru Friday, 8 AM - 5 pm, with the opportunity for overtime. Salary based on experience and abilities, with potential for advancement.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration units and auxiliary power units.
  • Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components.
  • Positive interface with service writers, leadership team, parts department, drivers, vendors & customers.
  • Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
  • Meet requirements of certifications.
  • Communicate effectively with customers.
  • Work safely and follow company safety standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Able to abide by and enforce the policies and procedures of Thermo King Sales & Service.

Required Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical degree or certification a plus).
  • Must have your own set of general tools.
  • Ability to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting & repairs.
  • Must be physically able to lift and work without any restrictions.
  • Solid written & communication skills.
  • Reliable.
  • Must have a good driving record and pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to work independently in a field service environment, while displaying a professional and confident relationship with the customer.
