Statement of Purpose

Assists the payroll department in managing payroll processing for designated restaurant markets, including the execution of Company policies, procedures, programs and systems. Participates in the achievement of department objectives. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ethical business practices. Essential in creating and maintaining a “People Excellence” environment.

Payroll Processor Responsibilities

  • Auditing timekeeping system for errors & communicating to restaurants for corrections
  • Process wage increases, sick & vacation pay, bonuses and expense reimbursements.
  • Process and enter wage garnishments, child support orders, 401K and uniform deductions.
  • Coordinate with Director of Payroll & Benefits when entering or removing insurance enrollment premiums pay cycle and HRIS
  • Tracking and completing new hire onboarding process through the payroll platform.
  • Deliver tax rate change notices to the third-party payroll vendor and follow up through completion.
  • Establish applicable sick leave and vacation accruals during acquisitions of new markets.
  • Upload timekeeping record into payroll platform and balance to payroll register.
  • Review separation paperwork for accuracy, inquire with managers for additional supporting documentation when necessary, respond to unemployment documentation and occasionally attend telephonic hearings.
  • Complete labor reports to various local, state and/or federal government entities.
  • 401K reporting to a third-party vendor.
  • Assist Director of Payroll & Benefits with monthly insurance enrollment event and communication of quarterly 401K enrollment.

Payroll Processor Skills Requirements

  • Must be very detailed, organized, work well under pressure, and enjoy process oriented, highly repetitive work.
  • Well versed with the Form I-9 and the necessary identification for authorization to work in the United States.
  • Prefer payroll experience with a multi-entity, multi-state & location environment.

Work Environment; Physical Demands

In order to satisfactorily execute and meet the above accountabilities and criteria, a Payroll Processor must perform the duties on-site, in accordance with customary scheduling requirements for the position (including ability to work additional hours and/or weekends to meet payroll deadlines).

The position frequently requires working at a fast pace and may involve exposure to noise due to open air office environment. In addition, the position involves sitting for long periods of time with repetitive typing, computer usage and phone calls.
