Currently we are seeking a Final Assembly – Chassis Prepper to join our team and be an essential part of our manufacturing team. This person will prepare the chassis to fit the garbage truck, making adjustments as needed to ensure proper fit and function. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Your Role in Our Mission:
- Prepare the chassis for the body of the truck by installing a variety of brackets.
- Modify the frame of the chassis to fit the truck body by moving around fuel tanks, relocating battery boxes, air dryers, air tanks, and routing air and fuel lines.
- Use a plasm cutter, torch, and grinder to make modifications.
- Ensure that the finished product matches the work order and any change orders.
- Operate a forklift and overhead crane as needed.
- Ensure safety through operating equipment in a safe manner and reporting any hazards associated with equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- 1 year of automotive mechanics experience preferred.
- Crane and forklift certification preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Math skills including understanding fractions and angles.
- Ability to read tape measures, technical documents, blueprints, and work orders.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Maintain a positive sense of teamwork, including the ability to maintain regular attendance.
