The Associate Development Program (ADP) is a two-year rotational program beginning July 2024 designed to bring high potential early career talent into the organization, expose participants to a curriculum of continuous development and create a pipeline of transformative professionals and future leaders. The program is structured to provide rich development opportunities and real-world experiences, in different locations, so participants gain a holistic view of the organization. The goal is for the Associate to transition into a specific role at one location at the end of the 2 years based on the experience and skill set the individual has developed over the course of the program.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The R&D Associate participates in research and development activities linked to new product and material initiatives, using established scientific techniques. Primary area of responsibility will be in material development or process improvements in media manufacturing for air filtration, liquid filtration, and bio-separation, including the documentation and assessment of the results.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive and support potential prototype technology and product design.Determine project goals in consultation with the local & global Technology teams.Understanding the requirements associated with maintaining a good laboratory environment. Ensure that laboratory procedures and documentation comply and comply with all safety regulations.Presentation to various internal audiences.Support the activities of fellow Scientists and Technicians, whilst developing their technical and personal skillset to the maximum.Technology transfer of promising concepts to the Technology Development team.Provide technical expertise and guidance in the specific areas of polymer chemistry and media development. Be self-motivated and updated in polymer technology and analytic laboratory techniques.Review patent landscape and be able to identify new patent opportunities.Active collaboration with Technology workforce.Collaboration with cross-functional team (Technology, Operations, and other functions of H&V)Ensure all local laws and regulations regarding chemical consumption, production and transportation are met including compliance with safety guidelines and support of Environmental Health Safety initiatives.Conduct Safety, Quality audits and report NCs; provide solutions to prevent future occurrences.Write-up technical reports, and preparation of training materials, Standard Operating Procedures.10% travel time (other HV sites, customers and vendors, conferences, committees, training etc.).Drive advanced materials development programs supported by cross-functional teams from conceptual ideas to full-scale production and commercialization.Interaction with customers, including providing technical support and validation as needed.Strive for continuous improvements in product, process and add value to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE):

Good presentation and communication skillsDetail oriented, self-starter, who can manage through ambiguity and demonstrate results.Demonstrated success of working independently and collaboratively with a diverse and/or global groupKnowledge of analytical laboratory techniquesBe willing and able to conduct experimental work and analysis and have a ‘hands-on’ attitude.Must possess high ethical standards and able to maintain confidentiality of all data and files.Strong Computer skills in MS Office such as Word, Excel, and Power Point; Familiarity with product development life cycle is a plus.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer or Material Science, with equivalent years of relevant work experience.
