Adams and Associates employs more than 2,000 staff members across the United States. Each year we provide academic, vocational training, and placement services to approximately 9,000 young people from ages 16 to 24 primarily in a residential setting. Our academic and career technical training programs are accredited and lead to national industry-recognized credentials. 

Responsible for the management of the Center’s recreation program. Oversees the daily management of the recreation department and uses proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues and concerns. Develops and implements a variety of programs to appeal to the entire student population. Promotes health and wellness, and publishes weekly and monthly recreation schedules. Is an active member of the Center’s HEALs Committee and supports the coordination and management of the extended training day program. Works in partnership with Dorm Life/Residential Living and Safety/Security staff to effectively supervise and manage the student population. May serve as the Acting Center Shift Manager/Manager on Duty.

Your role will be crucial in overseeing the daily operations of the recreation department, demonstrating your exceptional judgment and discretion in resolving student and staff concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Recreation Leadership:

Spearhead the management of the Center's recreation program, ensuring a diverse range of activities to captivate our student population. Develop and implement innovative programs that cater to the interests of our diverse student community.

Conflict Resolution Expert:

Utilize your excellent judgment to address student and staff issues effectively and discreetly, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Health and Wellness Advocate:

Promote health and wellness initiatives among students through well-thought-out programs and activities. Publish weekly and monthly recreation schedules to keep the community informed and engaged.

Committee Involvement:

Actively participate in the Center's HEALs Committee, contributing to initiatives that enhance the overall well-being of our community.

Extended Training Day Program:

Support the coordination and management of the extended training day program, ensuring a seamless integration of recreational activities.

Collaborative Supervision:

Work closely with Dorm Life/Residential Living and Safety/Security staff to effectively supervise and manage the student population. Collaborate seamlessly to create a holistic and supportive living and learning environment.

Managerial Flexibility:

Demonstrate your leadership capabilities by occasionally serving as the Acting Center Shift Manager/Manager on Duty, showcasing your adaptability and commitment.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited school preferred. A minimum three years of experience in recreation management/physical education and a substantial experience working with youth. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.


Supervises and manages the Recreation Department. Serves as the Center Shift Manager/Manager on Duty as required
