BASIC PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to substitute as needed in the absence of staff members of the Child Day Car Center by providing instructions and care for children birth to age of five years old.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for assisting in creating a warm, orderly and clean environment to promote the development of children.Assist in supervision of children, paying special attention to health and safety of each child.Maintaining State Licensing Teacher child ratios of 1:4 or 1:8, dailyResponsible for assisting in the care and upkeep of equipment and supplies.Assists in set-up and clean-up duties as required.Willingness to take directions from the Head Teacher remove HeadResponsible to inform Day Care Center of any changes in telephone numbers for contact purposes. Remove Please add Assist Teacher in completing all required State Licensing paperwork such as observations, assessments, DRDP, etc.Willingness to substitute for support services positions as well as teaching positions as needed. removeOther Related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements Must be at least 18 years od age and a high school graduate.Early Childhood Educations units 0-6 preferred Some experience with young children requiredChild Care Center experience preferred. Skills, Abilities, and other Qualification Requirements Must be highly flexible in a fast-paced changing environmentAbility to interact appropriately with childrenAbility to work with diverse groupsAbility to work as part of a team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basisAbility to grasp, push, and/or pull objectsAbility to reach overheadAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
