JOB SUMMARY FOR THE MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT:
The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing of Peoria is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Maintenance Assistant. This individual's primary purpose is to supervise, coordinate, and perform the duties of the maintenance department and ensure the facility is maintained in good repair and all systems are in compliance with applicable safety and fire regulations and federal, state, and local building codes to ensure a safe, comfortable environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities for the Maintenance Assistant:
Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.
Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment, including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
Clean windows and screens as directed.
Replace burned-out light bulbs, including exit, overhead, fluorescent, room call, etc., and perform cleaning duties wherever necessary.
As specified by the manufacturer, service heating and cooling units/systems are in compliance with established policies and procedures.
Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT:
v High school diploma or GED diploma
v Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
v Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and perform basic math computations as needed.
v Previous long-term care experience preferred.
