Georgia Military College Main Campus is seeking qualified candidates to serve as the Academy Scholar Assistant . The Academy Scholar Assistant is responsible for supporting GMC military service academy scholar students in both academic and administrative processes. This position will monitor the academy scholars' attendance, compile grade reports, assist in course registration, and assist in academy scholar recruitment as needed. This position will review weekly grade reports for academy scholars and international cadets. This role will serve as the initial point of contact to triage any academic concerns (via starfish or grade reports) to point the cadets to resources before elevating to the AVPJunior College Academics. This position shares responsibility for developing and implementing services and resources to assist academy scholars with academic concerns, course difficulties, academic self-efficacy, motivation, time management, basic and advanced academic behaviors, program progression, and other duties as assigned. This position would also work closely with the Commandant’s team to manage donor letter tracking.

Primary Responsibilities include: 

Reporting; Starfish Academic Flag/Progress reports; identifying areas of academic concern through grade reports; Create midterm and final grade reports for academy scholars that include faculty feedback on performance. Academy Scholar (student) Engagement – Provide individualized outreach to students, conduct interviews, initiate and maintain regular contact, build rapport with students, determine areas of improvement, develop action plans, and monitor student progress to include attendance and academic performance. Manage spreadsheet and tracking of details regarding donor appreciation letters for academy scholar supporters. Shepherd scholars in the process of writing letters. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree (or higher)

Experience: One (1) or more years in direct customer service and/or professional workforce experience

Skills: customer service, strong written and verbal skills, excellent interpersonal communication, organization, intermediate computing / analytics

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: Two (2) or more years in direct customer service and/or professional workforce experience

Skills: Experience working with CRM technology
