Job Details:

Functions: As a Parts Room Attendant at Tyson RVI-Harmony Rendering Plant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and functionality of our equipment by managing and organizing parts inventory. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the parts room, ensuring the availability of necessary components, and facilitating the timely distribution of parts to maintenance personnel. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, including quantities, locations, and usage. Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure stock levels meet operational needs. Utilize inventory management software or tools to track movement and update inventory status.

Parts Procurement:

Coordinate with procurement or purchasing departments to order replacement parts as needed. Research suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of parts to minimize equipment downtime. Verify received parts against purchase orders and packing slips, resolving any discrepancies promptly.

Organization and Maintenance:

Organize parts storage areas for easy accessibility and efficient retrieval. Label parts bins, shelves, or storage containers to enhance identification and streamline inventory management. Implement appropriate storage practices to preserve the quality and integrity of parts.

Distribution and Allocation:

Respond to maintenance requests by promptly retrieving and distributing required parts to maintenance personnel. Prioritize urgent requests and communicate any delays or shortages to relevant stakeholders. Ensure proper documentation of parts issuance and maintain records for accountability and traceability purposes.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Handle and store parts in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations. Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to the overall safety culture of the facility.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Familiarity with parts and components commonly used in rendering plant equipment is advantageous. Proficiency in using inventory management software or similar tools. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy objects when necessary. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices relevant to warehouse operations.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification. Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives. Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment. Familiarity with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a warehouse or parts room within the rendering plant. May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, and odors associated with industrial environments. Requires standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects. May need to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on operational requirements.
