Peer Tutors - Fall 2024 The Learning CenterTutor undergraduate students one-on-one, modeling how best to study for and think about course content.
A tutor’s weekly work schedule is flexible. Tutoring sessions are usually held on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. The number of paid tutoring hours can vary depending on your schedule and how many courses you’d like to tutor.
Attending pre-semester training and weekly meetings is a requirement for the position. Pre-semester training is usually held the last two weekdays before classes begin.

Must be a SUNY Cortland student. Candidates must be willing to participate in pre-semester training and weekly meetings in addition to their tutoring hours. Peer Tutors work towards earning College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Certification as a Level 1 Tutor while employed by The Learning Center.

A candidate must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and have earned a B or higher in courses to be selected as a tutor. They will also need to submit a letter of recommendation from a SUNY Cortland professor.
