About the Position
The Ray Wolpow Institute maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions to teach Topics in Holocaust Studies (HGST ). In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year, applications are accepted continuously for temporary non-tenure-track teaching positions on a part-time basis. Positions may become available at any time.The Ray Wolpow Institute and the University value teaching; and we expect you to be an excellent teacher; to be current in your discipline; to engage students actively in their own learning, including discussion, writing, and analysis; and to maintain high standards regarding course content. We expect you to provide students with feedback on their course work and examinations, and to be available to support students through regularly-scheduled office hours. You will be expected to have your students evaluate your courses using the standard University evaluation forms and to make those evaluations available to the Institute's Director for annual review.
Required Qualifications Ph.D or ABD in Dutch, French, German, Italian, Russian, Slavic Studies, Spanish, Israel Studies, Jewish Studies, History, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Memory Studies, or Scandinavian Studies Demonstrated potential for successful teaching of course on Holocaust history, memory, and representation in an interdisciplinary undergraduate curriculum Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff, including a commitment to cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgroundsAll employees must comply with our Immunization policies, including COVID vaccination by time of hire and Proof of Rubeola Measles Immunity within 60-days of hire. If a recent PhD or ABD, please include graduate transcripts and verification of highest degree (unofficial transcript is acceptable and may be scanned for electronic application and email purposes).
