The Coordinator Transplant-One (1) in Stem Cell and Bone Marrow, utilizes discretion and independent judgment in applying the nursing process to the provision of age specific and developmentally appropriate care to patients who are candidates for stem cell and/or bone marrow transplantation; case manages and coordinates all aspects of the stem cell and/or bone marrow transplant process; collaborates with interdisciplinary team as deems appropriate; serves as a liaison among physicians, patients, families, stem cell registries and payers to ensure effective utilization of resources and coordination of care; follows Medical Center and Transplantation Institute policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines; meets qualifications, licensure, certifications, and competencies as defined in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care; applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills in area of specialty; utilizes knowledge in the delivery of quality whole person care; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population; supports the department quality improvement program through proactive involvement in a Self-Managed Work Team. Performs other duties as needed

Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field preferred. Enrollment in Certified Hematopoietic Transplant Coordinator (CHTC) program after one year in position required. Minimum three years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in field of stem cell transplantation or oncology.

Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
