We offer sports programs for boys and girls ages 3-14 in today’s most popular sports like flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball and t-ball.
About the Job
The i9 Sports Baseball Instructor/Official is responsible for enhancing the overall experience for the i9 Sports Flag Football program. The Instructor/Official will officiate programs for age groups between 3-6 years old. The Baseball Instructor/Official will assist our volunteer coaches each week to ensure a positive, dynamic, and effective instructional experience is delivered. The position entails hands-on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skills levels.
Instructor/Official Shifts are weekends only with shifts available on Saturday. Our venues are located across Leesburg, Ashburn, Reston South Riding, and Sterling.
Fall T-Ball/Baseball Schedule: Weekends Only - Saturday Options
Sept 7th to Oct 27th - Fall League
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction and Skill Development:
- Teach young athletes the fundamental skills and techniques of Baseball
- Implement age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance players' Baseball abilities (Practice plans created and provided by i9 Sports).
- Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance.
- Complete mandatory pre season training sessions (Financially Compensated)
- Game Officiating:
- Serve as an official for youth T-Ball & Baseball games, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.
- Maintain a professional and unbiased demeanor while officiating games.
- Address rule violations and conflicts with fairness and diplomacy.
- Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure the safety of all participants during practices & games.
- Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Address any safety concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, and fellow staff members.
- Provide updates on program activities via Connecteam.
- Address questions, concerns, and feedback from parents and participants professionally.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching or playing Baseball.
- Knowledge of Baseball rules and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.
- A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Availability to work each weekend of the given season (Spring, Summer, etc.)
- Ability to efficiently solve problems
- Ability to motivate and manage others (i.e. coaches)
- Extremely reliable and responsible
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass background check
