Position Summary

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center (F&PBCC) in Omaha, Nebraska is actively recruiting a Radiation Oncologist to practice in our new 53,000 square foot cancer center currently under construction in Kearney Nebraska. This new facility will include both Medical and Radiation Oncology, along with support services. Our vision is to be the leader in multidisciplinary patient care by employing advanced technology and innovative treatment techniques.With this opportunity you will find: The latest equipment to include Varian Truebeam linear accelerators with optical surface tracking capability, Siemens CT Simulator and Aria/Eclipse software Full collaboration with existing UNMC/F&PBCC faculty This position will be dually employed by UNMC and Nebraska Medicine. Regular multidisciplinary, disease specific tumor conferences Access to UNMC’s full array of clinical trials UNMC’s fully accredited medical and medical physics residency programs A culture of respect, support and professional growth Emphasis on work life balance with favorable call schedule The Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center in Nebraska. Our growing faculty incudes seven physicians, nine physicists and three research faculty dedicated to education at all levels from health professions students, post-graduate residency programs and continuing medical education.The successful candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board certified/eligible in radiation oncology.
