Responsibilities:

  • Inspect/repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of trucks.
  • Repair experience with various CAT earthmoving and other related heavy equipment
  • Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists, jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety procedures.
  • Perform routine heavy equipment maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devices such as motor analyzers and handheld computers to determine how to address problems.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Heavy diesel/truck mechanic
  • Knowledge of shop equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
