Surg Tech

The Surgical Technologist/Scrub Assistant (ST/SA) practices under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Surgeon. This role assists with surgical procedures by preparing, managing sterile equipment/instruments, and preparing patients for surgery. The ST/SA must have a strong understanding of surgical technology and procedure.

Work Schedule:  0.7 FTE. Variable work pattern. Monday-Friday, Day/Evening shifts. Variable weekday and weekend call. Variable holiday call.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or a Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program or able to demonstrate at least one year of experience as a scrub tech at a site with multiple operating rooms. Certification as Surgical Technologist as certified by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of MN or able to demonstrate at least one year of experience as a scrub tech at a site with multiple operating rooms.  Current BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Heath Care Provider) Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique Supportive, learning attitude Practical medical knowledge of surgical procedures and application of skills in patient care

Preferred Qualifications:

Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment
