BIOS-251: Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab This course is the first of a four-course sequence in which humananatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach.Coursework emphasizes inter-relationships between form and functionat the gross and microscopic levels of organization. Topics includebasic anatomical and directional terminology, planes and sections,body cavities, chemical level of organization, fundamental conceptsand principles of cell biology, histology, the integumentary system, theskeletal system, joints, and articulations. The concept of homeostasisis included and emphasized in each body system. Course work andlaboratory exercises are designed to emphasize foundational concepts,promote critical thinking, and application of knowledge. BIOS-252: Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab This course is the second in a sequence of four-courses in humananatomy and physiology where we continue using a body systemsapproach. Coursework emphasizes interrelationships between structureand function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization. In thiscourse, we will cover the following topics: fundamental concepts andprinciples of the muscular, macroscopic and microscopic organizationand function of the nervous system, structure and functional componentsof the tissues making up the special senses, and analyzing the structureand functions of the endocrine system. The concept of homeostasisis included and emphasized in each body system. Course work andlaboratory exercises are designed to emphasize foundational concepts,promote critical thinking, and application of knowledge. BIOS-255: Anatomy and Physiology III with Lab This course is the third in a four-course sequence where wecontinue using a body systems approach. Coursework emphasizesinterrelationships between form and function at the gross andmicroscopic levels of organization. The topics include the anatomy andphysiology of the cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, and respiratorysystems with emphasis on physiological concepts and systems-levelinteractions. The concept of homeostasis is included and emphasized ineach body system. Course work and laboratory exercises are designedto emphasize foundational concepts, promote critical thinking, andapplication of knowledge. BIOS-256: Anatomy and Physiology IV with Lab This course is the last course of the A&P series in which human anatomyand physiology are studied using a body systems approach. Courseworkemphasizes interrelationships between form and function at the grossand microscopic levels of organization. Topics include the digestivesystem, metabolism and nutrition, urinary system, fluid, electrolyte,and acid-base balance, the male and female reproductive systems,and human development and inheritance. The concept of homeostasisis included and emphasized in each body system. Course work andlaboratory exercises are designed to emphasize foundational concepts,promote critical thinking and application of knowledge.Courses may meet once per week or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction in lab and classroom is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.Become part of a dynamic team of educational professionals, teaching Nursing Students in a dynamic classroom/online hybrid setting. Implement and embrace Chamberlain College’s Care philosophy, curriculum and course objectives by engaging students. Establish an environment conducive to student engagement by effectively planning and preparing for classes, responding quickly to student requests for assistance and ensuring that students enjoy a powerful learning experience. Identify opportunities to enhance student engagement through collaboration with colleagues who provide academic and professional guidance . Promote student success by demonstrating a flexible style and exhibit a passion for teaching by devoting time and energy to develop scholarly excellence. Engage with a diverse student body comprised of a variety of ages, cultural backgrounds, ethnicities and academic preparation. Foster a positive learning environment by keeping accurate records, submitting grades on time, and enforcing academic and attendance policies. Participate in curriculum development discussions, support campus events including orientation and graduation, open houses. Enhance the learning environment by engaging in research, scholarship, service and academic advising. QualificationsEarned a master's or doctorate degree in Anatomy & Physiology or related fields (see below) with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY. Related Fields: Science Education, Nursing, Public Health, Veterinary Medicine, Clinical Laboratory Science, Dentistry, Biology Are able to provide official and unofficial transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution. Are able to provide verification of foreign credentials if applicable. Have taught or been told you’re a “natural” at teaching and helping others learn. Possess genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning. Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community. Have a strong work ethic, learn from mistakes, build positive spirit and always look for a better way. Put the team first, appreciate diverse points of view, assume positive intent, collaborate and communicate openly. Additional Information Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Campus:In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
