The Vehicle Fleet Manager will be responsible for the efficient management and maintenance of our healthcare network's fleet, ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of staff, medical supplies, and equipment. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, implementing cost-effective strategies, and promoting sustainability in our transportation operations.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Vehicle Fleet Manager with Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

Manage and maintain a diverse fleet and transportation operations for the network. Ensure that vehicles and drivers are being utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner. Utilizing knowledge of preventive maintenance strategies, develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for a fleet of vehicles. Ensure fleet is maintained in compliance with regulatory standards. Utilizing knowledge of driver training programs and safety protocols, enforce and implement safety measures effectively. Collaborate with procurement teams throughout the procurement process in order to acquire suitable vehicles. Generate and analyze reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs, and fuel consumption. Identify and address issues related to fleet management. Partner and interact with internal teams, external service providers, and vendors.  Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management or other relevant area of study. Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in fleet management, managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting. Minimum of 2 or more years of logistics management experience. In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to fleet operations, licensing, and safety standards. Experience in budget development and management, with a focus on optimizing resources and achieving cost-effective operations. Familiarity with procurement process. Proficient in data analysis. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to problem-solve. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

Familiarity with sustainability practices in transportation operations is a plus.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Certification in fleet management or a related field is desirable. Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
