Position Purpose



Provides support and assistance in maintaining the District Records Management Program in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assists with record retention schedule maintenance. Maintains and updates the District Records Management website. Processes District Records Management work orders. Assists with the maintenance and organization of the District Records Warehouse.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Department Data Functions Provides information and assistance to District personnel as it pertains to District Record Management. Assists with maintaining the District Records Retention Schedule. Creates and distributes documentation and processes for District Records Management. Schedules and conducts records storage audits and recommends corrective actions. Participates in ongoing continued education with TSLAC. Ensure the department website is accurate and up-to-date. Inputs and maintains accurate and timely recordkeeping of database systems; ensures inclusion of information from required sources and accuracy of records. Participates in department meetings, including communicating suggestions for improving department functions. Operates a variety of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and hand dollies. Assists in all records warehouse operations including assisting with loading and unloading incoming and outgoing stock, assisting with records, warehouse inventories, and performing housekeeping duties. Assists with the District's yearly shredding process. Maintains a District laptop and assists with entering data into the Records Management Software. Coordinates large-scale records management pick-up at District facilities and schools. Works collaboratively, provides support, and contributes to knowledge sharing with District personnel. Participates in special projects when necessary. Safety Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals. Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse. Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours. Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Required Qualifications Education: High School diploma, GED, or Texas High School Equivalency certificate required; college business courses or advanced secretarial training preferred. Experience: 3 years working in technical customer service or related areas required. Language: Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) preferred.
