Job Description: We are seeking a Principal Analog Electrical Design Engineer to join our team, working on cutting-edge projects involving complex, high-reliability electrical designs. As a Principal Engineer, you will provide analog electrical design solutions and technical support for a variety of challenging projects throughout their life cycles. This role is critical in advancing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions on multiple platforms, especially those operating in the harsh environments of space.
Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
  • Provide high-reliability designs for critical space and military applications.
  • Lead electrical engineering efforts for flight missions and ground validation/testing.
  • Conduct original electrical and electro-optical instrument design.
  • Perform complex analog design tasks, including simulation, system/component modeling, and signal integrity analysis.
  • Execute worst-case circuit performance and functional analysis over mission life and environmental extremes.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
  • Offer advanced troubleshooting capabilities at both the system and component levels.
  • Engage in validation testing support.
  • Provide technical support for proposal activities.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work with program teams to develop design concepts and perform trade studies.
  • Prepare and present materials for formal design reviews and customer meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and vendors, participating in non-advocate reviews.
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Review and evaluate customer requirement documents.
  • Follow a methodical and structured approach to design and validation.
  • Utilize standard electrical engineering analysis and documentation software (e.g., PSPICE, Hyperlynx, Matlab, Mathcad, Orcad, Allegro, Visio, and CreoView).
Qualifications:Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an analog electrical engineer on space programs.
  • Demonstrated lead electrical design capability and experience.
  • Experience writing and deriving requirements and generating verification plans.
  • Proficient in writing technical reports and generating technical presentations.
  • Experience in high-reliability space, DoD airborne and ground systems, mission analysis, and government military program contracts is preferred.
  • Familiarity with focal plane technologies, power electronics, and motor drive design/analysis is a plus.
  • Applied use of DOORS requirements management tool is desirable.
Skills:
  • Strong analog design skills for both legacy support and new designs.
  • Proven advanced troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to quickly engage with and understand advanced electro-optical instruments.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • US citizenship required due to contract requirements.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, credit check, and drug screening.
