POSITION SUMMARY:

The SCADA Architect (SA) is responsible for developing/implementing standards for Targa’s pipeline supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) hardware, software systems.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own responsibility for the development/design/implementation of naming conventions, facility structure, templates, data structures, tools, etc. standards for the SCADA Systems. Own all aspects the configuration and deployment of SCADA software systems for all areas of operations. Work closely with Operations, Measurement, Gas Control, Measurement and Commercial Sales to ensure the SCADA System is being developed to established standards. Work closely with O&M groups to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of fully functional and maintainable systems, as well as provide expertise for ongoing operational support Collaborate daily with internal and external customer(s) to determine specific project needs and requirements Works directly with external consultants to provide standards, engineering details and design to support SCADA and Interconnection with other Targa business systems. Position will require some travel (less than 40%) Prepare and provide training for SCADA and electrical engineers on the use and implementation of standards, tools and templates created by this role Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Design/analysis experience in telecommunication design. Design/analysis experience with software SCADA systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

SCADA Systems Design Engineering with 5+ years’ experience In depth knowledge and project design experience with SCADA Systems and Telecommunications with end-to-end responsibility. Knowledge of industry standard SCADA software and platforms - Cygnet System Platform a plus. Familiarity with programming languages, UI design, databases Familiarity with PLCs, communication systems and protocols, networking architectures Highly organized individuals capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously Working experience with utility grid operation, load flow studies, transmission planning and knowledge of feasibility, system impact and facility studies a plus Strong technical writing skills for the development of design standards and specifications Ability to collaborate as a team and act as a team leader in a group of cross functional engineers User knowledge with AutoCAD, Visio, Ms Office and Ms Project, Excel Knowledge of electrical design, materials and methods installation. Knowledge of PHMSA 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195 Including API 1165 and 1167API 1164 and 1168 is a plusAPI 1130 and 1175 is an additional plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Vision sufficient to read computer screens, reports and related documents Hearing sufficient to hear verbal instruction and normal conversation levels Speech sufficient to communicate in person and over the telephone Dexterity sufficient to operate computers and other related office equipment Strength sufficient to lift, carry and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Endurance sufficient to maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift
