Position Summary:

The Clinical Forensic Psychology Program at The Chicago School is currently seeking qualified individuals to teach courses in the master’s and doctoral programs. All courses are blended requiring online and on-ground facilitation. This position is for the Los Angeles campus and reports directly to the Department Chair.

Principal Duties:

The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty members is to enrich courses by sharing theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject, encouraging direct application to the workplace within the field of Forensic Psychology for the appropriate degree level.

All adjunct faculty members at The Chicago School are expected to be available and responsive to students This “availability” includes:

Active participation in on-ground lectures and related instructional activities ( discussion forums);

Active participation in the online section of the course;

Timely grading of assignments and providing quality feedback;

Being available outside of regular class meetings to address student’s questions and concerns;

Responding to student, other faculty, staff or department chair emails within 48 hours.

In addition, it is expected that all adjunct faculty members adhere to the following duties during the term:

Creating and posting a welcome message to all students during the first week of the term;

Grading coursework and providing feedback according to the course syllabus and within a week’s time period;

Responding to all student email(s) and other communications within 48 hours;

Issuing final grade on time (as indicated by the registrar);

Other duties as assigned by Department Chair.

All Clinical Forensic Psychology adjunct faculty are required to complete an 8-week training course reviewing online pedagogy best practices prior to teaching their assigned courses. Adjuncts will be provided course syllabi with course texts prior to beginning the teaching assignment. They will also be connected with a core faculty member for onboarding and assistance throughout the semester. 

Position Qualifications:

In a cover letter, the candidate should outline how he or she meets the position qualifications.

Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology ( or from a regionally accredited program emphasis in Forensic Psychology is preferred;

Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed in California or who are license eligible;

Possess intermediate computer knowledge (email, outlook, PowerPoint, internet searches, research in library databases);

Previous teaching experience (3 years preferred);

Exemplary professional experience working within a forensic setting, law enforcement, military, or governmental positions

Engagement in research and scholarship (preferred).

This opportunity is budgeted at $1,124-1,540 per credit and may vary per course with student enrollment. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
