What is the Staff Bank? The KGH Staff Bank is a Temporary Staffing department recruiting workers who are looking to take up zero hour contracts or additional shifts around their current roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to build new relationships in departments who need shifts covering as and when whilst contributing to supporting your local hospital.

Essential Skills and Experience required:

NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (Adult) A minimum of 6 months Acute NHS or Care/Residential Willing to commit to shifts Excellent communication skills

Main duties of the job

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on patients lives? Do you have a caring and empathic nature? We are seeking dedicated individuals who can assist and support registered staff in the delivery of high quality, dignified and compassionate care to patients.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well being of our patients. You will contribute to the effective running of the department by concentrating on tasks that directly support the needs of the patient and assists their journey through monitoring vitals, personal hygiene and provide emotional support to families visiting. We will work with you, you will have supervision of a registered healthcare practitioner at all times, working within the parameters of their competence, communicating and documenting appropriate and relevant information to other members of the multi-disciplinary team in a professional timely manner. The ability to work to a high standard at all times, influencing and role modelling patient centred care.

The post holder may be required to rotate through other wards and departments as required to support Trust business and nursing care. All of our employeeswill abide by the National (DoH 2013) and local Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to Vocational Qualification/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of education, training or experience. Holds National Care Certificate or equivalent level of education, training or experience ( able to demonstrate the skill and competency to undertake the clinical duties as described in the job description) Holds Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English or education equivalent

Experience working in as a Healthcare Assistant in an healthcare, social care organisation/setting or service industry requiring people contact Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control and Safeguarding processes Experience of working in a healthcare team and patient settings Experience of dealing with patient/relative verbal complaints
