The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the independent supervision of the delivery of care to a group of residents on a nursing unit with guidance from the Director of Nursing Services. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will assist with resident needs, provides nursing care, evaluates nursing care, administers medications and completes treatments. Directly supervises the nursing assistants in the delivery of nursing care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and provide resident care through assessments and evaluations with guidance from the Director of Nursing

  • Deliver and maintain optimum resident care and comfort by demonstrating knowledge and skills consistent with nursing practices

  • Transcribe physician orders appropriately and accurately

  • Administer medications and complete treatments based on residents' needs

  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of nursing assistants

  • Assist in achieving compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

  • Evaluate effectiveness of the plan of care and make changes upon recognition of need

  • Elicit feedback from resident and/or family member to determine whether needs are being met

  • Follow company, facility, and departmental policies and procedures, and appropriately utilize professional nursing judgment

  • Ensure that resident care and services are being provided in a manner that adequately reflects the philosophy of the company.

     

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A passion for caring for and improving the lives of our residents

  • Current LPN License 

  • Ability to Administer Medication/IV certification preferred

  • Recent clinical experience; specialty skills in geriatrics preferred

  • Good Working knowledge of State Rules/Regulations

  • Positive Can-Do Attitude and Excellent Attendance
